Establishing The New Covenant

Bottom line - The old covenant points to and is completely fulfilled by Jesus' establishing of the new covenant.

Each covenant of the old testament clarified, restricted, and pointed more specifically to just who would be the Messiah and redeemer (the seed of the woman) that was mentioned by God in Gen. 3:15. Ultimately, Jesus is the seed of the woman, the seed of Abraham, the offspring of David, and the fulfillment of the Law.
