From Bethlehem To New Jerusalem

Bottom line: David dreamed of building a dwelling place for God out of timbers and stones. God dreamed of building a dwelling place for Himself out of redeemed humanity.

David dreamed of building God a house, a temple, fit for housing the ark of God and His shekinah glory. God redirected David's dream into something bigger and better for both God and David. For David, God would building a dynasty that would see his seed (the Messiah) reign on his throne forever. For God, David's seed (the Messiah) would build God a household of redeemed sinners to dwell with for all eternity in New Jerusalem.
