Jesus Died For Me!

The substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus is the act whereby He took upon Himself the guilt of sinners and paid the penalty of our sin and then bestowed His righteousness upon believers. The doctrine of substitution reveals that the Son of God became a man so that man could become the sons of God. When a person gets saved, he/she becomes a child of God. But, that reality is a possibility only because Jesus became a man Himself and died in our place (vicarious sacrifice on the cross) to pay our sin's penalty. Without the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus our salvation would not be possible. The gospel is good news because Jesus died for me!
